Hi, The long-debated courthouse was talked about again on Thursday evening at a forum hosted by Ed Long of the Shenandoah Valley Tea Party as Tim Fitzgerald, Augusta County administrator, and Duane Barron, president of Common Sense Courthouse Solutions, presented different possibilities for the future of the courthouse. The forum at Staunton City Hall drew a more than 50 interested citizens and, after a coin flip, Fitzgerald presented first on behalf of the county. Both Fitzgerald and Barron were limited to 30-minute presentations. Fitzgerald's presentation was similar to the county's presentation at its courthouse town hall meetings, running through everything from the history of the courthouse in Staunton to studies the county paid for on the courthouse and the functionality, practicality and safety measures that would change if a new court facility is built in Verona. "Really the only part of government that is left within the city is our court facilities,". For More Details great explainer videos
